Gibson SG Standard vs. Mosrite copy – Blitzkrieg Bop

I was just curious how much the sound would be different and which guitar would be more suitable to play Ramones songs. The Mosrite knock-off is an Eastwood JR (Johnny Ramone) Elite model with about the same config. as the real deal. I think the bridge pup is so-so and very noisy. Maybe I’ll swap it for the Dimarzio Johnny used in his Mosrites to see if it will give some improvement. For both guitars I have used the same amp and the same amp settings. (Marshall MG50DFX dirty channel) No external effects except for a little compression. The SG plays like butter and sounds more tight to my ears. The Eastwood is like driving a truck without power steering but sounds very close to the original. A difficult choice…
