So as soon as I got the Les Paul I had to go over all cliched and do an improvised redition of Eric Clapton’s ‘Hideaway’ from the John Mayall Bluesbreakers ‘Beano’ Album;
The first recording of a Gibson Les Paul and Marshall amp together…
I wonder if Eric knew he was creating history?
Well I don’t have a spare £300,000 to buy and original 1959 Les Paul Standard or an original Marshall JTM 45 for that matter so here goes with my 2005 Les Paul Standard and 2007 VOX AC30 CC2, overdrive as always on my videos is courtesy of my beloved Rat pedal.

For this clip, I used this washed cherry Flying V I bought in one of them guitar centers for 580 bugs. I like the thin neck of the guitar, even if these 496 and 512 standard humbuckers are somewhat “flat” in sound compared to their bigger sisters. Very sad that one can’t hear the very nice piano solo in the middle of the piece, where I play the rythms

FC’d this using the Gibson X-Plorer guitar for the 360. Decided to put it up because I still haven’t seen it done with the X-plorer. Yes I know I strum sometimes but It helps me keep up the timing in my head. Also because I don’t like the H-O & P-O system in Rockband so I just strum some of the notes. I’m very close to FC the whole song but the zig zags of death always ruin my streak which I believe are solo 2H and 2I.
