Here’s a 2005 Gibson Les Paul Supreme played through my Fender Super Sonic amp with an Avatar 2×12 extension cab. All 3 speakers are 12″ atone 30’s. The guitar was plugged straight into the amp and there are no effects used at all besides the built in tube gain/ditortion…not even reverb. Any differences in sound are from either the controls on the guitar, or my dynamics in playing…or possibly from standing in front of the camera and blocking the speakers sound from getting directly to the built in camcorder microphone. This guitar features a chambered Mahogany body between an Arched (AAAA grade Flamed) Maple top and back…Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard round it out and it is extremely dressed up…inlays, binding, gold hardware…and it sounds better than it looks! It plays great, sustains forever, is incredibly resonant with very controllable feedback characteristics…I had my amp cranked…it was shaking almost everything in the house! I’ll be putting this up for sale on eBay very soon. Thanks for watching and feel free to comment and correspond.

UPDATED OCTOBER 15 2008
Im planning on building another guitar soon and this time i will document how i’m making it and i will make sure to capture as much of it as i can on video. So, sometime this winter expect a how-to sort of thing!
—
DESCRIPTION:
I made this guitar because ive always wanted an explorer, and i didnt want to settle for an epiphone, but i didnt want to way $1000 for a gibson either, so i made one. I wanted the guitar to sound like Billy Gibbons signature gretsch model, which is “heavily chambered,” so i did the same. Sorta too bad that you cant see the inside cus thats where most of my hard work went lol. I made the guitar out of alder. I hollowed out (or Heavily chambered as i like to say) the back and glued an alder top on. The back and top are both made up of 3-4 pieces of alder, as my woodshop stock room had alot of warped pieces, and my teacher advised me to cut the wood with the grain and glue the pieces together. I used my first guitar’s neck, a squier strat neck, and cut off that weird curve shape. I used a gretsch wraparound tailpiece i got off ebay and a used unidentifiable seymour duncan pickup i got at a pawn shop for $20. The one knob, a volume control, somehow got put in backwards so a counter clockwise turn will turn it up. I painted the guitar with many coats of primer, and then black spray paint, and then a silver coat on the top. The top bout of the guitar was angled that way to keep the strap from falling off because i was too cheap to invest in straplocks lol so i used my prs’s old stock rings. I bought new gotoh tuning machines and it stays in tune pretty well. My only complaint is that the action is a bit up the neck, and the pot is not tight so sometimes when i change volume, it loses signal. The total cost of the electronics, paint, etc., was about $130, but i didnt have to pay for the wood. I am thinking that when i replace strings, i will remove the neck and stick some thin wood in the cavity to lower the upper neck action and i will try to find a way to tighten the pot so that i can play the guitar more, because as of now, it hangs from my wall and will get no play lol. If anyone wants to buy it, ill sell it for $350-$400 because it has alot of sentimental value to it because it was my first attempt to build a guitar I dont expect anyone to really buy it though
. Sorry for the long wait to reply! Ill try to reply to ur comments more from now on

Video # 4 Very rough as the (old) camera and inexpensive Marshall Bass amp don’t do the Bass justice…but you can get an idea of the range of tones that it is capable of. I think I shook every picture on the wall and anything else not bolted down in the room. The Bass was plugged straight into the amp and I basically ran the amp “flat” with only a slight amount of mids pulled out. All the tonal changes you hear are coming from the controls on the bass. I’ll be very impressed if anyone can guess where the beginning bass riff is from…
