Gibson electric guitar serial number, 10 points best answer?
I have an ebony Gibson SG Special electric guitar, and I have been trying to figure out what year it was made in.
Ive read about the YDDDYPPP, but it doesn't make sense – the serial on my guitar is 02463320.
Can anyone please help me figure out what the production year is?

Did a little research. I believe by your numbers it's a 1963. Hope that helps.

I have a Gibson Les Paul standard guitar that was left to me by my husband and need to get information on what year and color/type it is.
