Had one, too. Seems like about 100 years ago. I remember the action was, like, a full half inch off the frets…gave me some serious blisters. Wish I had kept mine,t oo.

dont dog on silver tones…. true story i worked at a music store for yrs and one of the best playing and sounding “clean only” guitars was a silver tone i sold it for like 80 bucks figuring i could always get another…….. yep just kick me

    Haha true. That’s …
Haha true. That’s what I thought at least, that he was being either sponsored or paid by PRS to do this silly video. Or that the store he works in just received a large shipment of PRS guitars and they need to get them all sold!

At any rate, a guitar doesn’t make the player. And different guitars are just different guitar tones and palettes.

  14. Whiteshark8 says:

    Thank you!!!!!!!!!! …
Thank you!!!!!!!!!! A good guitar play can make music with a Sears Silvertone. A not-so-good guitar player can spend $5000 on a custom guitar and it wont make him or her any better. (Though, I admit, having a nice instrument will inspire a player to play more often and get better faster..) Either way, a Strat is not a Sears Silvertone. I think this guy works for PRS. I bet I could find a guy on the Fender payroll that would come to a different conclusion. (Just guessing.)

jaja talvez le podriamos preguntar tambien a vai, o a clapton, o a hendrix, o a malmsteen, o a petrucci y a jody fisher, porque no, la guitarra no hace al guitarrista, no digas falacias… jaja

  17. Animatronica says:

    There is no “best …
There is no “best guitar”. There’s no point to this video. It portrays the PRS as completely superior to the Strat.

    Which is completely untrue.

You choose BLUE paint cos you need BLUE paint. You choose BLACK paint cos you need BLACK paint. You don’t go for RED paint if you need WHITE!

A Fender Strat has a Strat sound, the PRS has a PRS tone. One isn’t better than the other: THEY’RE JUST DIFFERENT GUITARS FOR DIFFERENT TONES AND APPLICATIONS!

Black paint and blue paint. Still paint!

    OH YEAH!!!!

    OH YEAH!!!!

the Old Kahler surface mounts had a sound ALL their own….dead center between a bigsby and a Fender bar.

My first elec was a Guild Aviator
    with a Kahler……
so…ok….dives were only half ed compared to a Ibanez / floyd rose

…but you could ALWAYS set the action SUPER SUPER low and not buzz at all, because the rollers ware in a fixed pos no matter WHERE the tension was set.

retuning for slide was a BREEZE

bar was stable so, didn’t need to lock the nut.
