Ummmmm. Sorry, I don’t mean to be a jerk to codyt5 but an amp has little to do with how you sound overall. The best thing to do is get yourself a really great guitar. I spent about 5 years tooling around with sub par craftsmanship until I got fed up with line instruments and went with something hand made. It made a lot of difference in my own playing. When a guitar is well balanced and crafted well it brings to attention more of the sounds that you have in your head. Invest in a great instrument

I played an Epiphone Les Paul Standard today
at Guitar Center, actually 2. One was quilted top for 650, the other plain top
both cherry sunburst. They were Ok. I took my
77 Gibson Les Paul Standard in for possible sale (due to getting laid off at work).
Ended up not selling the Gibson.

I think the Epihone would have been Ok.
Where I play at my church, probably no one would’ve noticed.
    :)
    Peace

    Depends on your …
Depends on your budget. Many people say the quality of your amp is more important in terms of tone than the quality of your guitar. If you can afford it, go for a tube amp or high quality modeling amp (depending on your style). Personally, I like low wattage tube amps with 12″ speakers so I can hear the full range of audible sounds my guitar produces. Hope that helps!

    They are cool for …
They are cool for practice and stuff and have some neat tones, but they just sound so thin and digital. They just don’t cut it once you put it next to a tube amp. My point was if you are going to buy a couple thousand dollar guitar, put it through a real amp that is not a computer.

  16. ChristopherRobin94 says:
