I would suggest to people try out several guitars before they choose one, even if they are out of your price range. If an epi feels better in your hands when you but doesn’t give you the sound you want, then I would change out the pickups. If your open minded to trying out several guitars before you buy, I would try out a Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany. I wouldn’t trade mine for any other guitar bar none.

The Gibsons are much better. Don’t kid yourself about higher end epiphones being as good as a Gibson standard. A good guitar player can get more out of a lesser guitar. How ever a guitar is only as good as the parts and craftmanship that put it together.
