    It’s much easier to …
It’s much easier to tell the difference when you have the EQ higher and you’re pushing the amp higher, this guy didn’t push it too much. You can here the obvious Les Paul bite here though

  2. mo28mabini says:

    well, the …
well, the hollowbody has kind of a compressed sound while the les paul clearly has more “bite”.

  3. filolovejoy says:

    Neither can I…… …
Neither can I……. and I pride myself on having a great ear ( hi end audio ). usually a hollow body sounds quite a bit different than a Les Paul …. but I could be wrong.

  4. engelbe says:

    Dude, that drummer …
Dude, that drummer is playing balls out!!! Seriously– just watch the drummer. You’d think his life was on the line!!! I love it.

I cannot hear the difference between both guitars. WTF???

    Awesome groove
    Awesome groove

  8. cartoonlike says:

    I don’t get the …
I don’t get the concept of this YouTube exercise. I just see two nice guitars wasted on a wanker and a drummer.

  9. Juda0326 says:

    Could you please …
Could you please tell me how the drums were recorded? How many and what mics? and what other recording gear?
    Thanks

  10. Juda0326 says:

    Guitar and drums …
Guitar and drums sound great. I like the way the drums are tuned.

  11. Frillkrydder says:

this is all abaut what you think is best

  12. MyOldGuitars says:

    Please notice the …
Please notice the WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY link. If a Gibson guitar through a Marshall amp with the gain just above 3 is still too much distortion for you, we have other videos using clean tones. Someone may just find something useful in the comparison of Vintage Gibson Les Paul and a new Gibson ES-330 through an overdriven amplifier. If someone wanted to play through a overdriven amp would you really tell them not to get a good guitar?

  13. AlienSexDog says:

    lmao exactly his …
lmao exactly his point… they should sound different but this “comparison” doesn’t show it up much and is therefore pathetic. In the end equipment doesn’t matter much, as long as it’s setup to play well, it’s the person and spirit behind it. A quality amp and speakers will make a far bigger difference.

  14. kjaem24 says:

    Once again …
Once again Entertainment Central, your comments make little sense. If you think there is little difference between the way a semi acoustic and a solid body LP sound overdriven or distorted, then your comments truly do hold no merit.
As far as your experience, I find it hard to believe that someone with such vast experience as a guitar builder would make such a stupid comment. This conversation needs to go no further.

  15. EntertainerCentral says:

    You guys must be …
You guys must be dumb? My point is with a distorted sound you can hardly tell the difference between a semu accoustic and a solid body Gibbo. and a 2nd hand LP copy with a Duncan PAF would sound very close. Use a clean sound to compare them.

And my statement is an educated one since I have bu’lt some of the worlds best custom guitars, that are written up in books, as well as souped up LP copies and played many vintage Gibbos and Fenders

  16. kjaem24 says:

    I wouldn’t mind …
I wouldn’t mind seeing the $200 LP copy that sounds like that. Your comment is ridiculous.

  17. MyOldGuitars says:

    You might check out …
You might check out some of our other videos. If our guitars still sound comparable to $200 LP copies, I would suggest getting better speakers. I can tell a difference on my Mac Book Pro and a bigger difference on my friends $99 Alesis powered monitors. At that price you could sell your $200 LP copy, buy a pair of monitors and still afford a strat copy. Then you’ll have the authority to dispute our next video.

  18. fretboarder says:

    i think this part …
i think this part suited the es more with its brighter tone..that 59 sounds great though with its vintage vibe..good video..

  19. AlienSexDog says:

    Pathetic comparison …
Pathetic comparison… you need to use a clean sound….distorted a $200 LP copy with a decent pickup could sound close too…
