No, $1300 is a good price to pay for a good guitar. But I'd really like to encourage you to not get one of the Les Paul Studio's (i'm guessing it's one of the alpine white ones with an ebony fretboard..?), and to shop around to get a better guitar. I actually was set on getting one of those myself, but then I talked to a guy that owns a small guitar shop that I take lessons at and he was able to find a Premium Plus Standard (lists for $4600) for $1900. A lot better quality and a much better investment for not a whole lot more money.

As long as you're going to use it a lot and arn't quiting anytime soon, then 1300 is a fine price

If u want my opinion I think that is alright for a guitar considering u play alot. I have seen guitars about 10x the amount of that, but guitars break also or wear out so it's really up 2 u.
