im the lead guitarist for my alternative, pop-punk powerpop band. and which guitar is more suitable. i tried these guitars out but couldnt find the difference. i play kinds of music like All American Rejects
please be helpful
Both are nice guitars. Their is hardly any diference. It is mainly the shape. Both have humbuckers and both are solid bodies.
The neck of the Firebird V, unlike most other Gibsons, is actually relatively thin. This makes for easy fret access for tough chords and reaches. The only minor drawback to the Firebird V’s playability is the fact that its body shape towards the back can get in the way of the players’ arm when playing on the lower frets.
As for the sound, the mini-humbuckers are designed to play blues rhythm and leads with light distortion. Nothing special.
As great as the body of the Gibson Explorer looks, I honestly found it a pain to play. It would take quite a bit of dedication to get used to this and play around it, though many have done it successfully and some don’t even find it to be an issue.
As for the sound, the humbuckers on this guitar rocks. I mean they sound way better than the firebird . No question. It can scream on the high end and deliver thick chords with a punch on the low end. I think this is what you are looking for.
Enjoy
